Welcome to Totally Gay Productions 

First things first: The name Totally Gay Productions comes from an Amazon review of a documentary wrote and produced called Ending the Silence, which claimed: “There is not one straight person interviewed. This is a totally gay production. By gays. For gays. To gays.” While this does not capture all of my work, it is the essence of my creative spirit. So here we are.

Totally Gay Productions is run by me, Leigh Finke. I’m a video producer and documentary filmmaker, and journalist. And I’m transgender.

I love learning and gathering new experiences. I love making things, talking to people, and working with diverse creators, and I want to do those things in as many different ways as possible.

Some personal details. I have two children, and they’re my light. Being a queer parent is fascinating and challenging, and the task motivates a great deal of my creative and professional life.

At the moment I live in St Paul, Minnesota. I’ve also lived in Chicago, Missoula, and Los Angeles.

Beyond my family and creative life, I am passionate about LGBTQ+ matters of all kinds.

I love watching films, reading history and horror and sci-fi and gay memoir, podcasting, commuting by bicycle, dress shopping, camping, and travel.
